Lulu was inspired by my grandmother and her beautiful lacy crochet shells and “dickies.”

The pattern stitch used in the Lulu shawl is reminiscent of the crochet pattern my grandmother loved to use with crochet thread and tiny hooks.

She taught me to crochet before kindergarten, and I still have several of her pieces tucked away in my mother's old cedar chest for safe keeping.
