Made with DARUMA Wool Mohair and a lining of GENMOU, Geist is a warm and understated hat that goes with everything. The clever construction gives the mohair exterior some extra volume and maintains the shape of the hat while adding a hidden fun accent color just for the wearer (and knitter!) to enjoy.
This hat is knitted using Magic Loop technique. First the outer layer is knitted in the MC yarn, then stitches are picked up from the provisional cast-on and knitted in the CC yarn. The lining is folded to the inside of the hat and an i-cord stalk is picked up through both layers to connect them. The outer layer is slightly longer than the lining, so that it folds over to the inside, creating a facing so that the lining isn’t seen when worn.
