Yarn Set: Umibata (amirisu 24)

Nagasaki, Tokuko's hometown, is by the sea with a long shoreline, and its culture has historically been influenced by the ocean.

The complex ria coastline is mostly cliffs and rocks, and sand beaches are scarce. The ocean peaking through rows of mountains is a nostalgic hometown image of mine.

Umibata top was inspired by such oceanic scenery, represented in blurred stripes in reverse stockinette fabric.
There are many beautiful sand beaches around the world, but for Tokuko, the most endearing ocean scape is the glimpses you can see between mountains and trees while traveling by train or car.
